We offer a special orientation for parents and families of incoming students to help introduce and welcome the entire family to CSU.
There is a $30 orientation charge for each person attending Spring Orientation with their student.
Orientation is about giving students the opportunity to learn more about Colorado State, to meet with an academic advisor and register for spring classes (if needed). It is also about families learning more about academics and student involvement at CSU and learning about how to support your student’s growth and development as a college student.
Students and their families who have attended Spring Orientation have repeatedly told our staff that coming to the program made the first year at Colorado State University much easier—students knew what to expect and where to go for assistance. Students also report feeling more comfortable in the Colorado State University community and making connections with other students, faculty, and administrators. Families felt more connected and knowledgeable about resources and how to successfully navigate through this time of transition.
The following is a tentative outline of the Spring Preview parent and family schedule for 2011-2012. You will receive a finalized schedule when you check-in for the program. Times and activities are subject to change. Please note: Check-in will begin at 8 a.m. on the second floor of the Lory Student Center. If you have any questions about the schedule please contact us at (970) 491-6011.
