Amber Bedee, Political Science Major from Colorado Springs, CO, Student Coordinator Hi everyone! My name is Amber Bedee and I will be graduating in May 2011. I have a major in Political Science and a minor in Economics. I am from Colorado Springs, Colorado and I absolutely love living here in Fort Collins! My involvement at CSU has been a wonderful and varied experience. I am a member of the University Honor’s Program as well as an academic fraternity. I love going to watch our Rams play no matter what sport it is! In addition to these involvements, I also work off campus at a local Chipotle where I always have a blast. Outside of school, I love being outdoors and try to spend as much time as possible hiking or snowboarding! I love hanging out with my friends or reading a good book at a local coffee shop. I currently serve as the Student Coordinator for Training and Development with Orientation. Basically this means I get to work really closely with all of our fantastic Orientation Leaders to make sure they are well trained and ready for your arrival on campus! I applied to be a member of the Orientation Team because I genuinely love CSU and the time that I have spent here. I want to pass on that love and ensure that new students at CSU feel connected and like they all have a place within the CSU community.

Luke Contreras, Political Science and Communication Studies double major from Colorado Springs, CO, Orientation Leader Hey Everyone!! My name is Luke Contreras; I am a sophomore here at CSU and I am on a quest to earn a double major in Political Science and Communication Studies. Before I came to Fort Collins, FoCo for short, I called Colorado Springs, CO home and went to Air Academy High School. I am excited to be an Orientation Leader this summer and help you all become proud CSU Rams. Getting involved here at CSU is a big deal, and I have found two areas where I have gotten involved and have loved every moment. First thing is I am a member of the Colorado State University Marching Band. We are the heartbeat of every football game out at Hughes Stadium and down at Invesco Field when we play the CU Buffaloes in the Rocky Mountain Showdown. I have played tenor sax for two years now and beginning in the fall of 2011, I will be serving as the drum major. Second thing is I am a Resident Assistant (RA for short). As an RA, I live on the floor in a residence hall, with first-year students. I help guide my residents to where they want to be and help establish an academically enriching and fun-loving community. I and the whole staff are excited to meet you all this summer! I wanted this position for one thing: introduce new students to the place I love and I hope to begin instilling that same love for CSU. This truly is a fantastic place to be and I want to show you all what it means to don the green and gold and be proud to be a CSU RAM!!

Mayry Craver, English major from Bailey, CO, Office Assistant Hi! My name is Mayry and I am an Orientation Team Office Assistant. I am a proud Colorado native and have spent most of my life living with my family in a beautiful small mountain town surrounded by Pike National Forest. Having a large family I’ve always had a passion for people – I believe that relationships are truly priceless gifts and I consider myself to be very blessed to have wonderful friendships with my family members as well as individuals I’ve met throughout the many adventures I’ve had so far in life. In addition, growing up in the wonderful setting of Colorado’s beautiful Rocky Mountains, I am passionate about nature, adventure, and beauty! I transferred to CSU for the spring semester of 2010 and have simply fallen in love, as I’m sure you will too, with everything this fabulous university has to offer! In addition to my great job working with incoming students, I am a Junior English major with a concentration in Creative Writing and I’m also pursuing a minor in Philosophy. I’ve always been a writer and really enjoy exploring my imagination and the world through the mediums of poetry and fiction. Additionally, I’m proud to be a member of several student organizations and groups here at the university including the Transfer Student Association. I wanted to be a part of the Orientation Team for 2011 for many reasons, but the one that inspired them all is my love for this school! Colorado State University has changed my life, I am so proud to call myself a Ram, and I am so excited that I have the opportunity to share my passion with all of you! I know that each one of you will find what you are looking for here and I can’t wait to be a part of making that happen for you! Welcome to CSU, GO RAMS!!!

Karen Eichel, Psychology and Fine Art double major from Broomfield, CO, Orientation Leader Hello! My name is Karen Leigh Eichel and I am a junior here at CSU. Before college, I lived in Broomfield, Colorado for my entire life and it was quite the change for me moving up here to Fort Collins. In school I am a double major in Psychology and Fine Art, with a concentration in Photography. Learning about people, how they interact, and even how our brains work really interests me, but I also like to use my creative side from time to time. That is why I picked bother majors; I just couldn’t give one up. I have changed my mind so many times on what I would like to do with both of my majors, knowing that I might change my mind again. As of now I would love to go to graduate school for Student Affairs and to also become an on-campus counselor for a university. With graduate school in mind, once I graduate I really want to live in a different state or even a different country to experience another place, still knowing I will most likely come back to Colorado in the end. Outside of school and being on the Orientation team, I am also a First Year Mentor to freshmen students. This year my group of students and I painted a mural on campus. The experience has just added to my passion for mentoring first year students. My life can be very busy and chaotic so I love quiet time to myself. I like to take pictures, read a good book, or listen to music. With that being said, after about thirty minutes of quiet I want to go back to all of my friends and all of the chaos in my life. I come from a very large extended family and I’m sure that is how I discovered my love for being around people. I also like to be outside in my free time. My favorite place in Fort Collins is Horsetooth. I like to go there and hike, go cliff jumping, go tubing, or even just have lunch. Another thing I like to do on my free time is eat! I love food and love trying new things and discovering the best places to eat in town. On the other hand I like to stay healthy, so I make time to dance. I have been dancing ever since I was two years old and I absolutely love how it makes me feel. I applied to be an Orientation Leader because I love being a part of the Orientation and Transition Programs. My main reason however is because when I first came to college I thought I had everything figured out. I knew exactly where I wanted to go and exactly who I wanted to be…but was I wrong! It took some time, but by stepping out of my comfort zone, I have found so many things that I am passionate about, being and Orientation Leader as one of them, that I would have otherwise passed by. I want to help freshmen find what they are passionate about and help them have the confidence and knowledge to do so. Starting college can be very intimidating, if I can help freshmen feel comfortable and as excited as I am about being a part of CSU I will feel that I have done my job! I can’t wait to meet you all over the summer!

Yesenia Enriquez, Political Science and History double major from Commerce City, CO, Orientation Leader Hi! My name is Yesenia Enriquez (but I also go by Yesi). I am originally from California, but I grew up in Commerce City, Colorado. I am a freshman and I have declared a double major in political science and history. I hope to earn my bachelors degree and continue my education with law school! As of right now, my involvement at CSU keeps on growing but I am currently in Key Academic and I was also a member of one of the groups of the First Year Mentoring Program. Next year, I will be part of Key Plus, which is the sophomore program for Key. Outside of campus, I love spending time with my family and friends. I am an Orientation Leader, and the reason why I applied is because I want to help incoming students free themselves out of their comfort zones, because if you do, this experience will be so much more FUN! When I came for my orientation I was very scared and nervous but I didn’t show it; I know how intimidating it can be coming to a new school with so many other people and not knowing anyone. Now it will be my turn to help you with whatever you might need during your first days at CSU. Orientation is only the beginning of this process but with our support we will help you with your transition to college, and you will see how rewarding being at CSU will be. I can’t wait to meet you all this summer! Remember to be calm and be yourself because the more relaxed you are, the more fun you will have!

Rachael Gigar, English Education major from Las Vegas, NV, Orientation Leader Hi everyone! My name is Rachael Gigar and I am a junior English-Education major at CSU! Although I am planning on attending Law School after my undergraduate degree is finished, I have always had a passion for teaching and am excited to student teach next year, as well as receive my teaching certification upon graduation. I love English and reading- two loves I hope to spread to the world! I was born and raised in fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada and my family and friends still live there. My boyfriend of 5 years, Alex, also goes to CSU and is from Vegas as well. He's my rock and the reason I am so put together (it doesn't come naturally). I love Colorado but miss the warm weather of home! I was a member of the CSU Mock Trial team for 3 years; I cannot be on the team next year because of student teaching, but I am hopefully going to help coach the new team in the fall. I also love theatre and dancing, two activities I did throughout my childhood and high school and try to do as much as possible in my free time. I am a Returning Orientation Leader this year and I cannot wait to start this new experience. I loved being an OL last year and it showed me the amazing impact one student can have on such a large campus. I decided to apply again this year after realizing, at the end of last summer, how much I had changed and how much I had grown through being an Orientation Leader and I wanted an opportunity to help new students and Orientation Team Members to have an amazing experience this year! I cannot wait for this summer to start and I know it's going to be wonderful!

Alexandria Grant, Human Development and Family Studies major from DeSoto, TX, Orientation Leader Hey y’all! My name is Alexandria Grant! I am a sophomore majoring in Human Development and Family Studies, with a Spanish minor. I chose this particular major because I desire a career within the division of Student Affairs and Higher Education. I have a passion for mentoring and advising college students like myself! I am from the GREAT state of Texas! I live in DeSoto, Texas, a suburb outside of Dallas County, yes the home of the INFAMOUS Dallas Cowboys! COWBOY NATION! This year I am currently involved in a plethora of programs! I am involved in President’s Leadership Program, and in this program we explore personal, interpersonal, organizational, and social dimensions of leadership and social justice. Also, I am involved in GPS; Giving back. EmPowering each other. Strengthening our Culture (GPS). It is through this program that we help build unity amongst African American students within Poudre School District by supporting their educational and extra-curricular endeavors. I am a First Year Mentor for Orientation and Transition Programs. My group is called, African American Women Dedicated to Excellence. Along with my wonderful staff member, LaToya Noel, I mentor a group of six amazing, strong, and determined freshman ladies in the midst of their transition to Colorado State University. This mentoring group is a time for heart to heart discussions about what it means to be an African American Woman, and what success and excellence mean to you. Finally, I am a Poudre School District Volunteer at Harris Bilingual Immersion School. With the help from Mrs. Richmond, I co-teach a fifth grade Spanish Literacy class to improve the Spanish speaking skills for native English speakers. This summer I am proud to say that I am an Orientation Leader! HEY ORIENTATION TEAM?! HEY WHAT?! J This summer I will have the chance to make new students, parents, families, and friends feel at home while giving tours here at CSU. My motivation to apply for Orientation Leader derived from my passion for servant leadership. Serving from the heart, helping people and building community is what I am most passionate about. I am eager and excited to let that passion shine through this summer! Class of 2015…LET’S GET IT!

Nathan Harr, History major from Elizabeth, CO, Orientation Leader Hey there! My name is Nathan Harr, and I am a sophomore history major. I would love to teach high school one day and I would also love to do some coaching. The sports I am interested in coaching are Golf, Baseball, and Track! I am a Colorado native, born and raised here! I am from Elizabeth, Colorado, it’s a very small town southeast of Denver. This summer I will be one of the Orientation Leaders that will hopefully have the joy of meeting you face to face and leading you around campus for orientation! On campus I am heavily involved. I try to keep myself busy so as to not get bored and so I can maintain a healthy lifestyle! Some of the things that I am involved in are, I am currently and R.A (Resident Assistant) in Allison Hall, I am a member of CSU’s premier acapella group Resonant RAMblings, and I enjoy playing many intramural sports! I love to be outside every nice day I get. Where you can find me on a nice spring/summer/fall day is on the golf course! If I am not there then I’m probably playing some beach volleyball with my friends who I LOVE to hang out and spend time with. I applied to be an Orientation Leader because of the great experiences that I had with my orientation as an incoming freshman. I really just wanted to give back to those of you that I will interact with this summer and hopefully make your first real experience with CSU a great memory. I cannot wait to meet all of you and I hope I can help you transition to the joys and experiences that Colorado State University has to offer. I’ll see you this summer! Come full of energy ready to meet new people and open up the first chapter of your college experience!! What will your CSU be?

Courtney Harrison, Sociology major from Henley-on-Thames, United Kingdom, Orientation Leader Hello, my name is Courtney Harrison. I am a sophomore at CSU. I am currently studying Sociology with a concentration in Criminal Justice and a minor in German. I hope that in studying this major I will be one step closer to my dream career of being a criminal investigator. I am originally from Henley – on – Thames, UK. However I have also lived in Tokyo, Japan and Centennial, Colorado, USA before coming to Fort Collins last summer. My involvement at CSU takes many different forms. I am a member of Habitat for Humanity, the German Club and an internationally orientated organization, called Global Connections. I am also currently training to be a DJ on CSU's student run radio station, KCSU. Outside of my CSU involvement I enjoy skiing, playing Clarinet, watching movies, listening to music and hanging out with friends and family. I applied to be in the Orientation Team as an Orientation Leader because I feel that orientation is a major part of someone’s experience at University, it can make or break your decision to come to a particular University. Orientation is a great experience for prospective students and parents as it gives you a little taste of what life at the University will be like. My Orientation experience last summer was a wonderful one. I was a little nervous to begin with, but the experience gave me access to lots of information and resources on campus that I would not have had otherwise and I also met people who I am still friends with today. I also applied to be an Orientation Leader because it gives me an opportunity to showcase what I love about this university! I have the opportunity to help others make a major decision in their lives and have fun in the process!

Liz Hart, Political Science and International Studies double major from Sparta, WI, Orientation Leader Hey all my name is Liz Hart and I am a second year Political Science/International Studies double major with a minor in Spanish. I'm originally from Sparta, Wisconsin but I grew up in a military family and have lived all over the country (and world!) This is largely why I chose the course of study I did. I enjoy playing intramural sports, being a resident assistant, and a first year peer mentor. I have decided to return to the orientation team as a returning orientation leader for this year because I had an amazing time this past summer. I really enjoy working with the student body and being a resource for all involved with Colorado State University.

Morgan Jueschke, Microbiology major from Grand Junction, CO, Orientation Leader Hello! My name is Morgan Jueschke and I will be a junior here at CSU in the fall. I am currently pursuing a degree in Microbiology and am very interested in all the little microbes living in our world today. I have been working in the Ergonomics lab on campus since August 2009, and am very fortunate to have the opportunity to explore the research projects here at CSU. Other than exploring science and working in the lab I have a lot of other activities that I enjoy doing. I love road biking and definitely enjoy the challenge of riding across Horsetooth. Rock climbing is another interest of mine, and it is quite convenient to do with the rock wall on campus and all the awesome places to climb around Fort Collins. I also play the violin and am exploring different avenues that allow me to play new music and meet new people! I was born and raised in Grand Junction, Colorado and absolutely love it there. I was definitely scared about coming to CSU because Fort Collins was much larger than Grand Junction and far from my family, but I have had nothing but amazing experiences here! Preview got me so excited about becoming a Ram and really helped me to transition into college life. I was a Ram Welcome Leader this past fall and absolutely loved getting all the incoming students excited about being a Ram. I applied to be an Orientation Leader because of my experience as a Ram Welcome Leader, and my passion for helping new students. I can’t wait to meet all of you new Rams! Get ready to fall in love with this University and all of the Ram Pride!

Breezy Kawakami, English Education major from Westminster, CO, Orientation Leader Hi all! My name is Breezy Kawakami and I am a sophomore. Both of my parents were teachers in Commerce City all throughout my childhood and I just could not get enough of it which is why I am now an English Education major here at CSU! I grew up in Westminster, Colorado before I moved up here to Fort Collins which quickly became my home away from home. Besides being an Orientation Leader I am also a member of C.R.E.W.S. (Creating Respect, Education Wellness for and by Students) which is a student run organization which focuses on residence hall programming around alcohol awareness, tobacco awareness/cessation and sexual health. Additionally, I am a member of a sorority here on campus. I applied to be a member of the Orientation Team this year because I wanted to be involved in something that will help me give back to the place which has given me so much! I have been given opportunities here that are one of a kind and they have all helped me grow as both a student and as a person. By being an orientation leader I hope to help you find your place at CSU as I did! I'm beyond excited to meet you all this summer and I look forward to helping you in any way I can to make your experience the best it can be!

Krystal Kelley, Political Science and International Studies double major from Denver, CO, Orientation Leader Hi everyone! My name is Krystal Joy Kelley and I am currently a sophomore at CSU double majoring in Political Science and International Studies concentrating in the Middle East/ North Africa. I am originally from Denver, Colorado, but have lived in Seattle, Washington. This summer I am really excited to be involved with the Orientation Leader team this summer. Besides being an Orientation Leader, I am also involved in a range of activities. I am an Admissions Ambassador, a student coordinator for the organization of Association of Student Activities Programming (ASAP), I am involved in intramural sports and actively involved in different clubs on campus. Besides the on-campus things I do, I also love to work out with friends, and hang out with my family since those are the most important things to me. I come from a large family so it’s always fun to have a good laugh and eat a great meal at my parents’ house. I like to read when I get the time, anything ranging from autobiographies to historical fiction (I know they may sound kind of out there, but they’re great!) I applied to be on the Orientation Team because I want to be that positive impact on all of the students and families that I interact with either during the summer or after. I want to help students who are coming into college who have no idea of what it is really like when you first step on campus and you’re nervous or scared and may be having second thoughts. But I’m so privileged to be an orientation leader so that I can put those fears and worries behind you as you start fresh and CSU!

Lyndsay Lack, Communications major from Windsor, CO, Orientation Leader Hi there! I'm Lyndsay Lack and I'm a sophomore Communications major with a minor in Chinese. I'm from Windsor, Colorado, and I can't wait to spend my summer here in Fort Collins as an Orientation Leader! Right now I serve as a Student Coordinator for the Key Communities and a mentor for the CSU Dream Project. I'm a second year President's Leadership Program student, a Chinese Club member, and I love the Alternative Breaks program! Last semester, I founded The Close-Knit Project, a knitting club that donates hand-made items to different communities in need. This fall I will be a Key Academic Community mentor, and I couldn't be more excited! Outside of school, my favorite things to do are laughing with friends, eating bagels and playing bananagrams. At my orientation experience a few years ago, I realized that it is never too late to become the best version of yourself. Orientation inspired me to create the future I had envisioned for myself as a college student, and I feel so privileged to be a part of this experience for other students!

Abigail McDonald, English and Spanish double major from Longmont, CO, Orientation Leader Hello! My name is Abigail McDonald and I am a sophomore English and Spanish double major with a concentration in creative writing here at Colorado State University. I am absolutely fascinated by languages, and after my time at CSU I plan on attending graduate school for psychology in order to become a high school therapist. I spent my childhood growing up in Longmont, Colorado and I had only been to Fort Collins once before I decided to attend CSU, which has turned out to be one of my best life decisions thus far! CSU Orientation and Preview will likely be one of the first times you, as incoming students, will get to experience the adventure that is Fort Collins and that is Colorado State University. I will be continuing my experience alongside you all this summer as an orientation leader. Through CSU I have been able to achieve goals I never thought I would be able to. On-campus I can almost always be found in the Morgan Library studying or in the basement of the Lory Student Center in student media. I host my own radio show on 90.5 KCSU, the on-campus student run radio, and next year I will be working as KCSU’s training director and will be responsible for training all incoming DJ’s. Colorado State University has also helped me explore the world, this past winter I studied abroad for a short program in Valparaíso, Chile through the university. I feel so lucky to have had this experience, and in order to give back, I volunteer with the Study Abroad Office so that I can share my excitement for going abroad with other students who might be interested. Outside of school, my main interests are photography and music. I love leisurely (key word, leisurely) bike rides with my friends around Old Town, catching local bands play at many of Fort Collin's music venues, and going on photography excursions around the town, Horsetooth Resevoir and surrounding areas. I applied to be an orientation leader because I want to help incoming students discover their own identity at CSU as I have over the past few semesters. I want to help students get involved with the university and become familiar with their new home and the next phase of their lives! SO EXCITING. When I first showed up at orientation I was terrified, but by the time I left the next day I had made new friends, I felt familiar with the campus, and I was counting down the days until I would finally begin my college experience at CSU. I simply cannot wait to meet all of you this summer and to help prepare you all for your super-awesome-ahh-I'm in college!-life-changing experience Colorado State University!

Ryan Moulden, Communication Studies major from Monument, CO, Orientation Leader Hey! My name is Ryan Moulden and I am a sophomore here at CSU. I am majoring in communication studies with a minor in business and a minor in ethnic studies. Before coming to the beautiful city of Fort Collins, I grew up in the town of Monument, Colorado. This summer I will be an orientation leader and get the opportunity to meet you all! My involvement at CSU consists of many different organizations and programs. On campus I work in the admissions office as an admissions ambassador. Through that position you all can see me giving tours to prospective students and their families. I also love involving myself with playing on intramural sports teams and going to watch our CSU Ram’s play! Outside of my school life, I love being outdoors so don’t be surprised if you see me relaxing in my hammock! Movies, music, and spending time with family and friends are also big parts of my life. I applied to be an orientation leader because of how awesome my orientation experience was and I will strive to give that same great experience back to you all this summer. I can totally sympathize! I remember my mindset when beginning my college experience and let me tell you, it would be hard to find a more nervous student than me at my preview orientation. My advice to you all: RELAX AND HAVE FUN! What I am looking forward to the most this summer is the opportunity to meet all of you and help you transition into the life changing experience of college. Can’t wait to see you all this summer!

I am studying for a Business Administration degree with marketing and management concentrations. Jake Pappas, English Education major from Fort Collins, CO, Orientation Leader Hello everyone! My name is Jake Pappas and I am a first-year student here at CSU studying English Education with a minor in Leadership Studies. I was lucky enough to grow up here in the beautiful town of Fort Collins, Colorado and I cannot wait to share my experiences from this town and from my first year at CSU with everyone this summer as an Orientation Leader. Throughout my first year so far at CSU I've been exposed to great opportunities to get involved in. I am currently a resident on the Leadership Development Community, participating in my residence hall council, a senator for the Residence Hall Association, an active member of the President's Leadership Program, and a founding father of a new fraternity here on campus. In looking at how many outstanding people I've have the chance to come into contact with throughout this year, I am extremely grateful for getting involved on campus. There are so many different organizations and clubs to participate in, all with their individual personalities and chances to make connections. I'm not sure I can put into words how excited I am to be an Orientation Leader this summer. I grew up in Fort Collins, so coming to my Preview session wasn't a huge worry for me... I quickly saw how many people didn't have that luxury. Preview, for most students, is the first real hands-on experience with the university. I had a fantastic Orientation Leader for those two days, and I'll always remember some of the great advice he gave me before starting my school year. I applied to be a leader this summer because I believe that even the three minute conversation about college can make or break someone's experiences at CSU, and I want to be as much of a positive impact as I can. I can't wait to finally meet all of you, and just remember that it's alright to be a little worried about Preview... just make the most out of it!

Aaron Reistad, Undeclared major from Colorado Springs, CO, Orientation Leader Hey Rammies! My name is Aaron and I am currently a second year student here at CSU. At this point in time I am currently Undeclared but come summer time I will be entering the School of Education in the subject of Social Studies. I am choosing this major because I enjoy working with people and kids in particular, and hope to be that cool history teacher we all had! I came from Colorado Springs before beginning this awesome college experience which I will help to show you as an Orientation Leader this summer! I have become a part of the Orientation and Transition Programs as an Orientation Leader, and during my first year here I was involved with the Leadership Development Community on campus. I am also in the process of becoming a Resident Assistant for next year so who knows where you will see me. Off campus I practice MMA, I also enjoy going to our great recreation center on campus and volunteering at a local elementary school. Besides school I enjoy hanging with my friends, movies, music and anything which involves laughter. I applied to be an orientation leader because I want to be able to relate to you all how awesome this school really is and the opportunities which come with it. I had an amazing time when I came for my freshman orientation and will be sure to give the same experience to you. Orientation is a great time to become acquainted with your university and meet some other people just like you and I am here to make sure this happens. For those of you who I meet I will help you with any questions you may have and also use my knowledge to help make your college experience the best it can be! Looking forward to seeing everyone this summer!

Maya Robinson, Anthropology major from Pueblo, CO, Orientation Leader Helloooooo Everybody!!! My name is Maya Robinson, and I am a sophomore cultural Anthropology major. If you don’t know what that is, that’s ok because neither did I when I first got to CSU. But that is some of the fantastic part about college; you discover new things that you didn’t even know would you love! I grew up in Pueblo, Colorado and I couldn’t be happier that I chose to move away to come to CSU. It was a big change, but one I will never regret. That is a huge reason why I decided to become an Orientation Leader this summer; I want to help show you how great CSU is, and all the opportunities that it offers you. I want to be a part of getting all of you excited to come to college, because I love CSU and so will you! There are tons of great things to get involved in here at CSU; seriously, the list is endless. Some of the things I have been involved in my time here so far include Key Service, the President’s Leadership Program, Alternative Spring Break, working for CSU Housing and Dining, as well as being a Ram Welcome Leader last summer. Those are only a few of the many, many activities and programs available here at CSU. I also enjoy being outdoors, going to the Rec Center, horseback riding, and tennis. Even though I love doing all of that during the summer, I think this will be the best summer yet and I will see you all then!

Andy Roddam, Chemistry major from Finksburg, MD, Orientation Leader Hello students and family!! My name is Andy Roddam and I will be a senior at CSU in the fall! I am currently a pre-medicine chemistry student, pursuing a career as a trauma surgeon. Now some of you might wonder, why chemistry? I choose chemistry because I love understanding how thing react on a small scale to form the bigger picture that we see. As a result of that desire, I also perform research in a biochemistry lab, where I observe protein interactions in a biological system. In addition to being a chemistry student, I am also a very active person. If I’m not hanging out with friends or reading in my room, you are almost sure to find me climbing outdoors or running around the neighborhood. I love rock climbing because it’s like a giant puzzle for me to solve, and I love running because of the accomplished feeling you get after completing your trek. In addition to climbing and running, I also volunteer at the Poudre Valley Hospital’s Emergency Room. This has been a great experience for me and has had the largest influence on my choice to be a doctor. I’m originally from Finksburg, MD but have spent many years in Denver, CO and Monument, CO. Going to Colorado State University was an easy decision for me to make because I enjoy the atmosphere of Fort Collins and also have parents who are alumni of the institution. Since my first year at CSU, I have participated in a number of campus activities, including tutoring elementary students and volunteering as a Ram Welcome Leader. As a Ram Welcome Leader, I had a great time working with first year students and getting them excited about being a CSU Ram! I applied to be an Orientation Leader because of my previous experience in transition programs, as well as my desire to welcome students to Colorado State University. I can’t wait to meet you all and share in your first experience at Colorado State University. GO RAMS!

James Beitner, Economics major from Boulder, CO, Office Assistant Hello, my name is James Beitner. I’m a sophomore majoring in Economics and minoring in Arabic and possibly business. I went to high school in Boulder, Colorado before spending a year at Whittier College in Los Angeles. I transferred to CSU in fall of 2010 and became an Orientation Office Assistant in spring of 2011. Here at CSU I primarily focus on academics. The size of CSU means that the variety of courses offered is unparalleled at smaller universities, and I recommend taking full advantage of this by taking as many diverse offerings as possible. Language at CSU can be a great way to meet people from different majors while investing in a skill that will prove marketable when it comes time to find a career. When I’m not working on homework I enjoy cooking creatively, watching movies and playing video games. I originally applied to join the orientation team as an Orientation Office Assistant because my transfer to CSU was smooth and I want to make entering CSU as easy for new students as it was for me.

Timothy Gold, Undeclared major from Denver, CO, Orientation Leader Hey everyone! My name is Timothy Gold and I am a freshman undeclared with an interest in Bio Medical Sciences here at Colorado State University. I want to go into the medical field and help as many people as I can! I am originally from Denver, Colorado, my second favorite city, Fort Collins being my first, and I am an Orientation Leader with the Orientation and Transitions Programs on campus. I am involved in a couple of great programs and organizations on campus. This passing year I have been involved as a student in the Key Communities, and as a member of the cultural groups United Men of Color and Shades of CSU. In my free time I love to go to the recreation center and play basketball, hang out with the awesome people on campus, and go to different athletic and cultural events. Although I am a student, I am definitely not a victim of becoming a robot that does nothing but school (even though that is good quality in a lot people’s perspective) so I try really hard to give myself “me” time. Going home to visit family and friends is another great way I get my head out of the books. I wanted to become an Orientation Leader because I really wanted to help incoming first year students feel as comfortable as I did when my orientation leader engulfed me into her sea of happiness and support. I want to have fun all summer long while trying to make the transition for incoming students as easy as possible. I am so excited to meet all of you and please do not hesitate to ask me questions and to just be yourself around me, I know I will! Can’t Wait!

Ebenezer Yebuah, Human Development and Family Studies major from Accra, Ghana, Orientation Leader Ebenezer Yebuah aka EB, is my name and I was born in Accra, Ghana and raised in Denver, Colorado. I am a senior Human Development and Family Studies Major here at Colorado State University and I'm loving it! So here's how it all started. In my first year at CSU, I wished to be engaged in as many programs and student organizations as possible and now I would like to take that wish back, just kidding. My CSU experience constantly changes on a daily basis through my interactions with interesting people, involvement in student orgs, participation in programs and my favorite working out at the recreation center, oh yea. Besides that, I am currently a Resident Assistant (RA) in Allison Hall and I supervise an all-male floor with 34 first year students from different parts of the country and the world. I am also an active member of the United Men of Color and I love being a part the organization! Outside of CSU, I help coordinate programs at the Boys and Girls Club of Fort Collins for young adult ages 12 to 16. Outside of my school life, I love watching movies, hanging out with friends, writing music, singing and producing my own music. I guess you can say I’m the next big star. Now, is that another wish I might take back later on? I don’t know but we shall see! On the Orientation Team, I am a returning orientation leader. I applied to return to the team because I had an amazing experience helping new incoming first year students transition to the college life last summer, and I couldn’t think of anything better to do than to do it all over again, but this time even bigger and better. I LOVE seeing the nervousness on students face's when they check-in and seeing new faces, calm faces, and excited faces when students checkout! Last summer I was excited to start orientation, this summer I am PUMPED to start orientation. OH YEA. I can’t wait to see you all this summer so start the countdown to an experience of FUN and ADVENTURE on the CSU campus with all the fabulous orientation leaders!
