What's the best way to get around campus?
Transfort
Transfort, Fort Collins' bus system, is free for all full fee-paying students. Transfort has convenient schedules, several stops on campus, and reaches many of the city's outlying areas. To use Transfort, students must present their student bus pass available for pick-up at the Transfort Information Center in the Lory Student Center or at the Campus Information Center located in the Lory Student Center. Call Transfort at (970) 221-6620 for more information.
Vehicles on Campus
Although a car is not needed to get around campus, students may park on campus. Parking permits are required in all campus parking lots and can be purchased at University Parking Services, 201 Green Hall or online at http://parking.colostate.edu/. A State of Colorado emissions test is required for all student vehicles. For further information about parking and emissions requirements, call (970) 491-7041.
Bicycle Registration
Bicycles are definitely popular on campus! You must register your bike with the Colorado State University Police Department, located in 201 Green Hall, for a $10 charge. For more information, call the University Police Department at (970) 491-6425.
Can family and friends attend as well?
Yes! Parents and family members are welcome to come along and participate in Fall Preview. In fact, we've incorporated separate sessions to provide information commonly sought by family members and other guests. These sessions are conveniently scheduled when students are attending other sessions, participating in team meetings and social activities, and registering for classes. A charge of $60 per person is charged to students, family members, and other guests who attend Preview. Younger siblings are also welcome to attend. A charge of $15 per sibling applies. Click on the "Parents and Families" page for more information.
Which placement exams do I need to take?
Placement exams are designed to place students into CSU courses consistent with their preparation; they are not a condition for admission to Colorado State University. Incoming students (without adequate AP*, IB or transfer credits) are required to take a Math Placement Exam and English Composition Placement/Challenge Exam. In addition, a Foreign Language Placement Exam is offered but not required for all students. You are able to take all exams online using a personal computer before attending Preview. Click to access Placement Exam information.
There are charges for each placement examination completed. These charges are not included in the Fall Preview program charge. Exam charges are automatically assessed to the student's account with the University.

How can I pay the reservation charge?
There are two ways to pay for orientation charges. First and most preferred, you can sign-up online using our secure registration system. A credit card is required for online reservations. You can also sign-up for the program by printing off a hardcopy reservation form to be mailed into our office. With this reservation form, you can send us credit card information or send a money order, cashier's check or personal check (made out to Colorado State University). Please do not send cash.
Where do I park when I arrive at Fall Preview orientation?
If you are driving to campus, we suggest parking in lots closest to Braiden Hall in lots 470 or 505 (only in lots marked Q, W, X or Z (see map for more details). Please do not park in any lots designated as "A" lots; you will receive a parking ticket in these lots. The north end of lot 505 is designated as A parking. Once parked, we recommend leaving your car parked since all presentations are within a reasonable distance from these lots.
