First 50 Days

President’s Fall Address & University Picnic
Wednesday, September 20, 2017
11:30 A.M. – 1:30 P.M.

The Oval
The Fall Address has been a campus fixture for decades, giving University presidents the opportunity to welcome students to campus while presenting the state of the university. The picnic was added in 1997 – after a flash flood devastated campus and the surrounding community just a few weeks prior to the start of classes – to celebrate the resiliency of the campus and to look forward to a bright future. Come join the campus community for lunch on the oval for this annual tradition.

Cans Around the Oval
Cans Around the Oval is a Colorado State University tradition, where students, faculty, and staff partner with the community members, local media, and area businesses to raise awareness about hunger in our community, as well as raise food and monetary donations for the Food Bank of Larimer County.  This event is Larimer County’s largest single-day food drive and events will take place on the following dates:

Cans Around the Oval Kickoff: September 14, 9am-4pm, ASCSU Senate Chambers
CANstruction: October 11, 10am-2pm, LSC Plaza
Cans Around the Oval Collection Day: October 18, 10am-4pm, CSU Oval

New students specifically can get involved by donating any non-perishable food items or volunteer the day of the event.
