Academic Advising

Academic advising is mandatory for all incoming students. Advising is designed to help you understand degree and graduation requirements, plan your academic goals, and assist you with university policies and procedures. Please look at each link below to familiarize yourself with advising at CSU.

How is the advising and course selection process different from high school?

There are many more choices in college with 76 majors and thousands of courses offered each semester

You will need to take more responsibility than you may have in the past in understanding the academic requirements, University policies, and procedures.

Since you choose your major, a lot more time and energy will be invested in determining and/or refining your academic and career goals

Because of vast amount of choices
and the complexity of the University, it is essential that you work closely with your academic adviser.
