Well-Being Workshop: The Stress Less Program
Wednesday, February 20, 2019
4:30 P.M.- 5:30 P.M.

During this interactive presentation, you will gain a better understanding of the stress response, the positive and negative effects of stress, and the influence of the mind/body connection to stress management. Discussion and activities will help you better understand the causes of stress, identify its warning signs, and how to use different coping techniques and resources.

Learn how to speak with a smile, use other people's favorite words, and avoid the worst of small talk as well as how to integrate the A-Z Talk, the Engagement Ring Story, the Left Eye, and T-Rex concepts into your communication style. Learn how to reach and find belonging, over merely fitting-in.

TEDxCSU is an all-day event, with multiple speaker sessions and between those, an opportunity to check out innovative exhibitions, engage with speakers and discuss ideas worth spreading with hundreds of other TEDxCSU attendees. Admission to TEDxCSU includes access to the speaker sessions and entrance into the Exhibit Hall, with food, beverage, innovative exhibitions and a change to engage in conversation with almost 500 other participants.

Project Homeless Connect

Project Homeless Connect is a one-day event that provides individuals and families currently experiencing homelessness with access to vital services such as: rapid re-housing, basic medical exams, legal advice and much more. It's a one-stop shop for assistance that helps families stop struggling and paves the way for their success. The role of the volunteer will be to guide the client through services, schedule appointments, and more.

Intro to Rock Climbing

8:00 A.M.- 4:00 P.M.
Horsetooth Area

This trip is designed to introduce students to the sport of rock climbing by experiencing one of the best local climbing areas. Participants do not need any prior climbing experience to register for this trip. Spend the day learning a new sport, experiencing the great outdoors, and engaging with other second-year students.

Cost: $15 (includes transportation, essential climbing gear, lunch)

See the Need! Take the Plunge! Learn and Serve! Join a CSU tradition and over two thousand students for a day-long service plunge in and around the Fort Collins community! Join fellow students in planting trees, painting houses, visiting with senior citizens, sorting food, and much more.

Being creative can help reduce stress by giving the thinking mind a break. Creating something can be a restorative, mood booster and takes very little time. At this session, we will look at ways to introduce creative breaks into the small moments of your everyday life. No prior skills required.
