Transfer Events

Throughout the semester a number of events and social gatherings are planned for new transfer students. These events are designed to help you enjoy your time at CSU while meeting other new students and making connections. We hope to see you at our events this semester!

For-Ever-Green T-Shirt Pickup & Ask a TTL
Tuesday, January 22-Wednesday, January 23, 2019 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
Lory Student Center, Fleamarket (Level 200, Across from the CSU Bookstore)
Haven't gotten your For-Ever-Green t-shirt yet? No problem! Stop by the Lory Student Center on Tuesday or Wednesday during the first week of classes to get your shirt and to also ask the TTLs any question(s) you may have about the CSU transfer experience. Be sure to stop by!
 
Transfer Student Kickoff
Friday, January 25, 2019 from 5 p.m.-6 p.m.
Lory Student Center, Grey Rock Room (Level 200, Room 290)

Join the Transfer Transition Leaders for a free meal and fun at the annual Transfer Student Kickoff! This is a great way to meet other new transfer students, eat some great food, and learn more about upcoming programs for the spring semester. As well, after attending the kickoff, join the TTLs at the “Winter Welcome” held on Level 300 of the Lory Student Center. Join us for full night of fun in welcoming you as a transfer student here at CSU!
 
Transfer Outdoor Adventure Kickoff

Interested in knowing more about getting involved on campus through the outdoors? Then join the TTLs in learning more about the Outdoor Program here at CSU! The Outdoor Programs seeks to connect CSU students with the outdoors through various programs and learning opportunities. Do not miss out on this introduction to all things outdoors here at CSU.
 
Outdoor Clinic: Avalanche Awareness

Winter outdoor adventures can be thrilling, but are not without there dangers. That is why during this educational opportunity, students will learn about safety when hiking, skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, etc. in avalanche country. Do not miss out on this chance to learn more about avalanche safety.
 
Walrus Ice Cream Social/First Friday Gallery Art Walk

Old Town Area of Fort Collins
There are so many things to do in Fort Collins! Join the TTLs and other new transfer students for a night of fun in exploring Fort Collins’ Old Town area. Starting with a stop to a Fort Collins favorite, Walrus Ice Cream, followed by attending the First Friday Gallery Art Walk. This event is designed to showcase a number of shops/stores in the Old town area. If you are wondering about how to get to Old Town from campus, no worries. The MAX bus will take you right up to Old Town from campus. Learn more about the MAX here.
 
Learn to Ski/Snowboard Trip

Two of the greatest wintertime activities in the state of Colorado include skiing and snowboarding down the great slopes of the Rocky Mountains. Interested in learning more about how to ski or snowboard? Then this is the trip for you! Join one of the TTLs and an Outdoor Program Instructor for a day of learning to Ski/Snowboard at Snowy Range Ski Area in Centennial, WY. Transportation will be provided. NOTE, participation in this event requires signing up, as there are a limited number of spots available. Students will be notified after signing up if they are confirmed or waitlisted. This event is intended for beginners who are seeking to learn about skiing or snowboarding. Outdoor Clinic: Avalanche Beacon Rescue
Tuesday, February 12, 2019 from 5 p.m.-6 p.m.
Outdoor Resource Room, Student Rec Center (Next to the Climbing Wall)
Building upon the Outdoor Clinic: Avalanche Awareness, this educational opportunity will introduce participants to beacon rescue when dealing with avalanches. Witness firsthand how to use beacons when caught in an avalanche. Do not miss out on this chance to learn more about avalanche safety.
 
BANFF Mountain Film Festival

Join the TTLs and fellow transfer students in a night of exciting cinematic magic, focusing on many different outdoor adventures with BANFF Mountain Film Festival. An annual CSU tradition, the Outdoor Program is hosting a weekend filled with different films that feature different outdoor adventures. Transfer Programs @ CSU will be offering a few free tickets to new transfer students for Sunday, February 24, 2019. Free tickets are first-come, first-serve. NOTE, to receive a free ticket requires that you sign up, as there are a limited number of spots available. Students will be notified after signing up if they are confirmed or waitlisted. BANFF Mountain Film Festival will run from Friday, February 22 - Sunday, February 24, 2019. Snowshoeing Trip

Snowshoeing in the Rock Mountains is one of the greatest ways to experience the majestic views and truly take in nature. Join one of the TTLs and an Outdoor Program Instructor for this guided snowshoeing trip that will take you through the mountains in an exciting way. Transportation will be provided. NOTE, participation in this event requires signing up, as there are a limited number of spots available. Students will be notified after signing up if they are confirmed or waitlisted. This event is intended for all levels of experience with snowshoeing. More details and sign-up to come.

This is a fantastic opportunity to serve the Fort Collins community. In partnership with various campus organizations, CSU students, staff, and faculty help community members in planting trees, painting houses, visiting with senior citizens, sorting food, and much more. Services are provided to neighbors in the community, the City of Fort Collins, state, county and federal agencies; and local non-profits. Be on the lookout for the sign-up to be a part of the transfer student CSUnity group. Be a part of something bigger with the TTLs and fellow transfer students.
